Voices of the Bombardment Exhibition and World War 1 poetry competition
Artefacts from World War 1 have been put on show in a 6 month exhibition called Voices of the Bombardment at the Museum of Hartlepool. It includes the original painting called the Bombardment of the Hartlepool's by James Clark.
The Hartlepool Mail has teamed up with Hartlepool Borough Council to launch a poetry competition which is being held to mark the Bombardment of Hartlepool. Winning entries will be chosen in 2 age categories - there are sections for under 11 and 11-19 year olds. To get involved, we want you to study James Clarks definative painting of the bombardment before writing a poem of no more that 100 words.
The Bombarment of the Hartlepool's is on display as part of the Voices of the Bombarment exhibition.
Closing date for the submission of entries is Friday October 10th and the Hartlepool Mail will publish as many of the entries as possible. The judges will pick a shortlist and then the winner and 3 highly commended entries from each category.
